An accomplished professional with experience spanning various industries, Phil Giboney owned and operated the Snap-on Tools franchise in Lakewood, Washington, where he provided professional tools and equipment to mechanics, technicians, and to military bases. He currently focuses on property management as the owner of Trojan One Properties. Outside of work, Phil Giboney indulges in his hobbies of boating and old boat restoration, and he enjoys exploring Puget Sound.

Located in the northwestern part of Washington state, Puget Sound is a 100-mile system of freshwater inlets, channels, estuaries, and islands. Over 3,000 different types of invertebrates, including oysters, octopuses, sea urchins, and clams, flourish in its waters. In addition to its reputation as a popular destination for salmon fishing, Puget Sound is the habitat of 13 different types of large sea mammals, and visitors frequent the area for whale watching.

Boating and kayaking are two common recreational activities in the region. Swimming is safe in some areas, while the dangers of predators like sharks and jellyfish are more significant in others. A mobile app called Swim Guide provides up-to-date, data-driven suggestions for the safest places. Puget Sound's current and salty water make swimming there an experience akin to ocean swimming.
